Pizza Business

We are so excited that our pizza business is gonna open for business pretty soon. My husband build it by itself. I'm going to take a picture to show it here, made from a pretty big size close trailer. Our plan was been approved for awhile now and last Friday we went to the Health Department for inspections. That was the 1st time we brought it there and we are happy that only few things needed to do to make it pass. Very simple things just some caulking needed to be smooth and some other parts. We hopefully hopefully we gonna start our own business pretty soon.

Let it Snow! Let it Snow!

I talked to my friend in Chicago today while i was having my break at work. It's been awhile that we never heard from each other. We used to be a very good friends way back in Cebu before she came here in the US and we used to be a workmates before that too. Well, she told me that she didn't went out today cause of some snow storm on there place. After talking for awhile catching on what's going on in our lives she want me to go to Chicago for a visit. Well, i don't wanna stuck on their weather but she don't want to come down here in Phoenix either were we have a very nice weather in winter. Guess we have to make a better plan for our reunion cause it's gonna be 5 years that we never seen each other.

Last Day of Our Tree

Tomorrow is the last day of our Christmas tree in our living room. We gonna put it out on file for bulk trash and the city will pick it up and seems the schedule for this month is either Monday or Tuesday. On my next day-off i'm going to put away Christmas decorations and keep it for the next Christmas. Time past by so fast and it's already the 11Th of January, pretty soon we won't notice it it's gonna be Christmas once again.

Post Holiday Sales

Seems post holiday sales is not clicking this year... We have a lot of markdown in the store plus extra 30% off but looks like racks are still full. I've notice a lot of people buying from the clearance but still seems untouched. Might be because less and less of people are going shopping, i know economy still down so people probably are watching on there expenses and could probably just spend it to the most important. Hope this 2009 economy will recover on this crisis... Like me i tried not to be more spender even though my weakness is shopping, just do some window shopping or just walking around the store for some exercise hehe.

A Tuna for Lunch

We bought a nice looking fresh tuna at Asian Market last Monday. It's been awhile that i,ve ate fish on my own cooking. When i was in the Philippines i am on seafood's and vegetables diet and when i got here i am on mostly meat. I mean there are a lot of seafood's and vegetables if i just go to an Asian store but i don't know there seems to be different in flavors as what i've used to and my husband loves meat so i am cooking whats everybody could eat. Anyways, we got fried tuna for lunch today, my husband eat fish sometimes and it's been awhile i just hope my daughter will eat it too. Tuna is one of my favorite fish and sometimes in the Philippines if we can bought a fresh one we ate it raw like just cook it in the vinegar, put a little salt to taste, add onions, ginger, tomato and tiny hot chilly and it's good to go. Gosh, i missed that food. Have you heard the news that 2 competitors of a sushi restaurant in Japan shared the 100,00 bluefin tuna at the fish auction? That's one expensive tuna, well..that's one thing too cause tuna here in the US are getting more expensive than meat. I just remember the days... my mother side of the family are mostly fisherman. My grandpa is a fisherman and that's basically how he raised his family. They sells fish whenever they caught a lot and of course free foods on the table. That is all i knew on their source of income, he's a great grandpa and he raised his kids very well. Most of my uncles were fisherman too and some were mechanics of the huge fishing boat and they're doing good on what they are doing and sometimes if they caught a lot they gives as fresh caught fish.Hhhmmm thoe were the days......

Extra Pounds

I just recently noticed that i gain some weight, i guess i've eat too much this past months.hehe.. Well, you know from those past holidays i guess i ate a little more than what i used to. It's been awhile also that i stepped into that scale and yesterday surprise! surprise! i gain like 11 pounds. I guess i need to watch my diet from now on or else all my jeans next winter won't fit me anymore. I know that this is not good to start a new year but from now on i'm going back to my original diet and watch for what i've eat. This is hard cause you know i felt different, i am feeling a little exhausted for a little work and my jeans felt little tight. Hhhhmmm... i need to get busy also not just focusing on work and eating. I was thinking also to start a new career and going to school for Massage Therapy. Well, still checking on it and hoping to get a student loan. "Cross fingers" i am so excited about this!!!

Belated Merry Christmas everyone hope everybody had a wonderful Christmas. I was busy this past days, been working everyday and preparing for the holiday. We had a wonderful Christmas too. Have our Christmas eve dinner in the house, went to church after and open our presents when we get home. Some people open their presents early morning on the Christmas day but ours we open it on the night of Christmas eve. That's what my husband's tradition and so as we in our family in the Philippines. On the day of Christmas, twas raining but we went drove to Yarnell hoping we can see some snow. There was no luck but we still have a good time, raining and foggy around Yarnell and we decided not to go farther more. The Spirit of Christmas

Christmas is the time of love, a time for sharing and a time for joy. Would it be nice if everyday is Christmas not just every 25th of December? Today i get a chance to finish shopping a gift for Christmas and done wrapping it and putting under our tree. I'm done wrapping and packing ready to ship for my in-laws in Montana also and might mail it tomorrow. My New Hobby

Yes, i started a new hobby today... I watched one time at Antiques Road Show this woman bringing her collection of brooch pinned in a mannequin shape. I said to myself if i been doing that since i started going into a yard sales, estate sales, thrift stores i probably have a lot of collection of brooch. It's just given me an idea for my new hobby and she collected it for 10 years and mostly she bought it for a dollar below. That's exactly the price of some of those sales. So starting today i bought some for my collection maybe after ten years i'm gonna bring this to the Antiques Road Show and worth 10,000 as what the woman's collections worth. hhaha! She just collected it, she had no idea if it's old or new, marking or without any markings. The appraisal lady said that her collection is a mixed old and new but still worth $10,000 all for a nice collections.

Last years she was only 19 months old so she doesn't know whats going on but this time she's kinda' carried away, kinda' excited and loves the decorations. She'll stopped and look around every time she sees at the store. She'll sing along with me too cause i always played Christmas songs in the house.

Yes! I am so very excited to take an off from work next week. We are going to Laughlin to meet my husband's Aunt and Uncle, they're coming down from Montana. They're camping in our front yard for the whole winter so we got to spend the Holiday with them.

The Capitol Christmas Tree

This year's Capitol Christmas Tree is came form Skalkaho Montana. We just got a mail from my husband's aunt with a news paper article about the cutting of the Christmas tree for the US Capitol. She said that they didn't make it cause Uncle Bob was not feeling fine.
I been to that place like 2 times, it's very nice place a lot of pines everywhere that's why we liked to go to that place every time we're going to visit to Montana. Smelling some fresh airs and my husband and i are both nature's lover, we both like exploring the wilderness and have a picnic. Skalkaho falls along the road and runs to the the creek, clean fresh water. Very well taking cared and preserved.
This year's Capitol Christmas Tree is a 100 foot subalpine fir and only cut 75 foot just right for the Capitol. The tree well be placed in front of the Capitol were everybody will enjoy it for the coming holiday.
The pictures is around that place, they call that place the gem mountain cause it's abundant with sapphires. Last year we tried to look for our own sapphire i blog about it in here. We didn't stopped and explore around woods and creeks cause there are still some ice around and i can't find the pictures of out first trip were we took around some creeks and took some pictures of some deer also.

Halloween 2008

I know... I know Halloween is over, i just wanna put picture in remembrance for the Halloween 2008. As usual my daughter doesn't like dressing costume for the Halloween. Her 1st Halloween is a pumpkin, she's almost 8 months at that time so she doesn't care. The 2nd time she is a Leopard and she hates it. Her father's slowly convincing her to try the clothes just for the sake of pictures, she tried it just for a few minutes and cried cause she wanted to take it off. This year i thought she'll gonna like it cause it's Tinkerbell's dress. She is excited at 1st and then she wants change. No trick or treat i had work at that night and my husband don't want to. He's not really into trick or treating.

To Carved A Pumpkin

I was thinking about bringing my daughter to a pumpkin patch to pick our own pumpkin for the Halloween and carve it cause this is what the so called tradition here in America every Halloween. Of course before proceeding on our plan 1st i wanna know what the pumpkin head all about? what's the beginning on this so called tradition? People correct me if i'm wrong cause i'm not from here and nextime i'm going to share our way in the Philippines. My workmate started this by telling me a story about Jack O'Lantern. Same story i found in the Internet:

History of the Jack O'Lantern
The Irish brought the tradition of the Jack O'Lantern to America. But, the original Jack O'Lantern was not a pumpkin. The Jack O'Lantern legend goes back hundreds of years in Irish History. As the story goes, Stingy Jack was a miserable, old drunk who liked to play tricks on everyone: family, friends, his mother and even the Devil himself. One day, he tricked the Devil into climbing up an apple tree. Once the Devil climbed up the apple tree, Stingy Jack hurriedly placed crosses around the trunk of the tree. The Devil was then unable to get down the tree. Stingy Jack made the Devil promise him not to take his soul when he died. Once the devil promised not to take his soul, Stingy Jack removed the crosses and let the Devil down.
Many years later, when Jack finally died, he went to the pearly gates of Heaven and was told by Saint Peter that he was too mean and too cruel and had led a miserable and worthless life on earth. He was not allowed to enter heaven. He then went down to Hell and the Devil. The Devil kept his promise and would not allow him to enter Hell. Now Jack was scared and had nowhere to go but to wander about forever in the darkness between heaven and hell. He asked the Devil how he could leave as there was no light. The Devil tossed him an ember from the flames of Hell to help him light his way. Jack placed the ember in a hollowed out Turnip, one of his favorite foods which he always carried around with him whenever he could steal one. For that day onward, Stingy Jack roamed the earth without a resting place, lighting his way as he went with his "Jack O'Lantern".
On all Hallow's eve, the Irish hollowed out Turnips, rutabagas, gourds, potatoes and beets. They placed a light in them to ward off evil spirits and keep Stingy Jack away. These were the original Jack O'Lanterns. In the 1800's a couple of waves of Irish immigrants came to America. The Irish immigrants quickly discovered that Pumpkins were bigger and easier to carve out. So they used pumpkins for Jack O'Lanterns.

I asked my husband about this but he doesn't know.(Their ancestors are not Irish. Their Danish and German) They probably didn't practise this so called tradition cause i asked him one time if it's ok if i put some decorations outside for the Halloween like a pumpkin head but he refuse cause it's an evil way. Now i know what he's talking about. He didn't even tried trick or treating when he was a kid. Well we didn't really tried trick or treating too with my daughter we just dress her some costumes and she wears is whole day wherever we go and it's fun and cute for the kids and just this time one day every year to wear fun costumes. I asked him about to pick a pumpkin and he is ok just to experience the tradition and having a family outing at the pumpkin patch and our daughter might like it. Anyway i loved pumpkin pie and it's my favorite ever since i got to taste of it. One thing is the story is just a myth so might as well enjoy the Halloween.

Fall Cleaning

First i want everybody to know that i'm loving the weather. We can do fun stuff outside and my daughter is loving it as well. Today is my day-off and this is my only day-off for this week, i'm hoping they'll give me at least 2 days off next week. I been doing some general cleaning around the house today. Cleaning our closet and my daughter's closet for the coming cold season and storing some summer clothes away. Aside from that is disinfecting the shower, tub, toilets, bathrooms counter and kitchen counter. As well as steam cleaning the carpets. Very tiring day but at least i accomplished something especially cleaning our carpets. Gosh! you know how it is when you have kid around, i just covered the spots with the rugs cause i didn't get a chance to steam clean it but seems spots are all over now and i can't handle looking on it anymore. Well she's just a kid and i don't mind it and i don't mind cleaning her mess as well. Yeah, before and after work i 'm cleaning my daughter's mess, she'll helped me though like putting her toys in the toy box. At the end of the day i felt like i did something productive today and maybe next day-off i'm gonna start planting some flowers in my flower pots outside again cause they all died last summer. Which i'm doing it all the time whenever it starts to cool down. I'm just loving the weather and it's giving me a nice mood.
