Tour on the Kartchner Cavern

Kartchner cavern is a stunning limestone wet cave in southern AZ boasting with many world class features that have been protected since the cave was discovered in 1974. That is why no pictures allowed on the cave cause on the last years the flashing of cameras ruining the caves surface.Inside the cave we walked along a 1.2 miles on the trail viewing multi-hued stalactites and stalagmites. As we enter on the cave i felt costophobia cause of it's high humidity and i'm afraid i'm gonna pass out cause we enter door by door with limited air and high humidity. You know it's been awhile feeling the high humidity in the Philippines. Our tour begins on an electric tram that runs from the Discovery Center to the entrance of the cave not far from the sinkhole were the discoverer entered the cave in 1974. We entered through a 420 long man made tunnel sealed by series of airtight doors designed to preserved the interior climate, temperatures in high 60's and relative humidity from 97.5% to 100%. The cave is extremely fragile cause exposure to outside air can dry out the cave and terminate it's growth. It's very nice inside and a little cooler than in the entrance area. Everytime we reach a certain place they turn on some lights, they planted electric lights around for the people to see it clearly the beauty inside the cave and they turn it off after we've passed that place cause heat from the light might ruin the original temperature inside the cave. Very nice dainty white helectites, translucent orange they call it a bacon drapes, spectacular soda straw formation, there's a "fried egg" stalagmites and the amazing column they call it Kubla Khan that stands over 58 feet tall.Aside from the amazing discoveries of the cave, they found some evidence of prehistoric life been in the cave including the skeleton of an 80,000 years old Shasta ground Sloth and the cave is also home of about 1,000 female bats. That was a very nice experience and as we went out from the cave i felt some condensation on my body from the humidity that i felt inside to a nice and dry on the outside of the cave.
Well, that was a nice, fun and fascinating weekend get away from a very interesting historical town of Tombstone, our staying a night camping in Benzon KOA camp ground and our amazing tour of the Kartchner Cavern.

The Birdcage Theater

As we walked around the town we stopped by in the Birdcage Theater as my husband knew this on the movie. This is the famous Birdcage Theater and it's over 100yrs. old and the theater is still standing and intact.

In 1880's it was not only a theater, but also served as a saloon, gambling hall and brothel. The New York Times called it "the wildest, roughest, wickedness honky tonk between Basin Street and Barbary Coast", since the Birdcage was the scene for twenty-six deaths during eight years of business.

Today the Birdcage has been converted into a museum, There are alot of bullet holes around that building as the guy attended in there shows it to us. Most of the furniture's, pictures and the things inside the theater were original and it's over 100yrs. old. It's very interesting theater were ladies of the night sold pleasures to cowboys and miners on the old days.

Check the link if you want to know more about the Birdcage Theater.

Camping and Exploring Benzon and Tombstone AZ

We got back from our camping and exploring last night, decided not to stay for another night in the camper cause i have to work today and i don't wanna get too tired at work. That was fun and fascinating weekend get away. We're camping at Benzon at KOA camp ground stay one night at Aunt Shirley and Uncle Bob RV camper. Explore to Tombstone on the next day as we wait for our tour schedule at Kartchner cavern at 2 o'clock.

Tombstone is one of Arizona's ghost town and they said that it's the town too tough to die. Gangster are leading the town before, if you've watched the movie Tombstone by Kurt Russel the story was based on the town of Tombstone. I've never seen it yet but my husband is relating the movie to me and he said that he's gonna rent it for me. Gosh! if you just knew that those people buried in Boothill Graveyard, most of those people were slaughtered, hanged and killed. It's a rough and tough days on the western time at Tombstone.

In the 1880's Tombstone was a blooming running town, gold and silver was the lure that also became a magnet to thieves, card-sharks,murderers, rustlers, and an abundance of unsavory bad guys. The streets came alive with hundreds of saloons, gambling halls and bawdy houses. Boothill overflowed with those shot during poker games, killed on drunken-endured gunfights and even hung for simply becoming a public nuisance. It's interesting town those old building most marking that we saw were from 1881 and seems most of those building somebody died in there as they put marking info on every old building and just based on what i read. Check this link if wanna more about the town:

Headed to Tombstone

Reminiscing Arizona's bygone days of the Old West. Today we are headed to Tombstone, one of Arizona's ghost town and it's one of the old west most famous town when silver was the king. I am so excited cause i heard about fascinating stories for all the people buried in Tombstone. This is the 3rd ghost town that i visited... the 1st one is Jerome, AZ 2nd is Oatman,AZ, even the town has not much to offer than just the old houses, saloons, stores but the place fascinates you with stories from the past. I will tell you the story of Tombstone when i get back.

Treasures in the Thrift Stores

I stopped by at Goodwill yesterday just to browse around and maybe i can find some great deal. I am more like looking and browsing on the jewelry section cause it's much cheaper if you can find nice fashion jewelry or a real one. I found one bracelet yesterday had like a Chinese writing on it. Well, it's only $2.99 but even so i didn't bought it at that time cause i don't wanna waste my money for the item just to be thrown away but there is some markings on it 916 and i don't have any idea what's it means. When i got home i search for it and found out that 916 is 91.6% pure gold 22k gold and the rest is a metal a copper or silver. But still part of it is pure gold. I search for it on eBay also and there selling more than 2.99 the price of what i pay for it. Oh yeah! i went back to the store and bought it and the lady says " i know you'll come back for this".

Go GREEN!!!

Go green!!! is my theme for tomorrows celebration for Earth Day... Think of what we can do to maintain green of our planet starting in our house. Give at least 5 to 10 steps of what we can do today.
In our house:
1. Conserve energy at least turn-off some lights or appliances not in use. Now that summer is here we just used dryer for tiny clothes and underwear's the rest is hang it on the clothes line and let the heat of the sun takes care of it. 2. Conserve water like turn-off water if not in used like when brushing teeth or in the shower while soaping your body. Our washing machine doesn't used too much water, it's just used just right for the clothes to soak and not over flowing. 3. Recycle, yup i'm recycling our tin cans and sold it and the money is adds on our daughter's savings account. Sorting and separate trash from those that can still be recycle. 4. Not to used to much gas, yup were using our car with the good gas mileage and i know my husband is saving his gas too cause gas prices is too high. 5. Have some indoor plants inside the house this is a very helpful way to prevent indoor pollution and cleansing the air we breath. Plant trees and flowers around the yard. We have few trees around the yard and i'm taking care of my flowers cause i like flowers and adds assortment in our yard 6. Eat fresh fruits and vegetables more often. I always cooked foods for my family and how i loved vegetables and seafood's. My husband is a carnivore who loves meat and i'm just adding some decoration on his food and he likes it too. 7. Clean and organize your house to have a clean and healthy environment. 8. Used cleaning material that are not harmful to our body. My husband is so sensitive of smell and so do i, we are using odor free soap and used simple green all around cause it's non-toxic and made of natural ingredients. It's all purpose cleaner and it's cheap too.9. Recycle plastic bags from store, i sometimes used it as a trash bags for our tiny trash and storage bags before i put stuffs on our storage shed. 10. Recycle clothes and things and donate it. I sometimes donate things that are not in used and still in excellent condition, some clothes like my daughters clothes cause nobody could use it anymore and drop it to Goodwill and it can be useful for some people.
Think of what you can do to save our planet in your house, write at least 5-10 and let me know so that i can learn something from you. I know there are some more that i forgot or missed.

London Bridge is Falling Down

Are you familiar of this song? When i was a kid we always played and sung this song and i thought that it's just a made up song. Well, it is really true that the bridge is falling down and one guy in America bought it from London and shipped it here and now here it is the famous London Bridge the second biggest tourist attraction in Arizona right after Grand Canyon. Check-out the history of the bridge and the 1st construction about 2,000 years ago, the collapsing, the sinking and the tearing of the bridge and how it got here in Lake Havasu City in the Wikipedia. What's interesting is my husband's Aunt and Uncle walked on this bridge when it's still in London and visited there on the late 1950's and still they were still like to visit Havasu and walked on this bridge alot of times.

Lake Havasu city is a very nice place alot of people visited this place not only for the famous bridge but also for being the city along the river and alot of people do boating and fishing. We followed the Colorado river from Laughlin Nevada, Havasu Lake and on our way going back to Phoenix we are still seeing alot of nice interesting places and attractions along the river. seems alot of people like to lived and settle down along the river banks. Well, i won't blame them cause there are alot of fun to lived near in the water and i am so jealous and miss Philippines while watching their blue green water looks like the color of the ocean.

An Old Mining Town

Friday, before we left Laughlin we spend our mornings to have a nice refreshing breakfast at the hotel casino buffet first and stopped at Harrah's casino for an hour after. Planning on headed Havasu Lake City and spend one night in there, but in route to Havasu we stopped by in an old mining town. Oatman is one of the ghost town here in Arizona. Ghost town because in early 1900 there are alot of people living in this place but on this present time only a 100 or less people maintaining the town. On the year 1915 the town is popular because of the gold mining business and one of the largest produces gold in Arizona. It's been said that Oatman produced 1.8 million ounces of gold. It's very interesting and historical town, there are alot of wild donkeys around waiting for people to feed them with carrots. It's been said that this burros were used on the gold mining before for hauling rocks and ore, they were released when the gold mines were closed. Burros were still all over the town when you go and visit Oatman, they were the descendants of the domestic work animals at old times. There is an old hotel in Oatman they call it now the Oatman Hotel and it was built in 1902. If you are familiar of the guy in the movie "Gone with the Wind" it's a classic love story, a guy there named Clark Gable. He is the King of Hollywood at that time and his wife Carol Lombard is the Queen of Hollywood. Well, they married in Kingman, AZ and honeymooned in this hotel at Oatman. They still have their room at this time well preserved and i took a picture of it. It's a very interesting town surrounded by a rocky mountains and they said that some people just found gold nuggets on the mountains at those times. As we enter the town on our way i said to my husband what kind of mountains are these no trees it's just rock popping on the ground, you know i never seen Mars but this place is like a Mars on the movie. He's just laughing at me and after i knew a little about the place and on my thought i bet under those mountains there are alot of gold on it.

Road Trip

We just got back from our trip from Laughlin Nevada, Oatman Arizona and Havasu Lake City. We've meet my husband's Aunt and Uncle in Laughlin, their coming down here in Arizona from Montana. It's sure do nice to see them and spend our 3 days of fun, adventures and exploring.
We meet them Thursday at almost 12 noon in a very nice hotel casino, our accommodations the Tropicana Hotel. Went sightseeing along the Colorado River by Colorado Belle the Riverside Casino. Laughlin is just a small town on the banks of Colorado River and on the other side of the river is the Bullhead City Arizona. Going back to our hotel and spending few hours on the slot machine but doesn't have any luck at all so forget it. So just might as well chit chatting with Aunt Shirley and watching my daughter cause they won't allow kids on the casino. On our way to our hotel, i just knew that Laughlin is a place visited by alot of tourist too cause lobby is packed with people from France, China and Japan who are trying to get rooms.

Courtesy and Decorum

Sad to say that our courtesy and decorum is losing now a days... I've notice that alot of people were getting rude, disrespectful, high pride and arrogant. Courtesy and decorum starts at our own home in our family, if the older practise it all the time and i'm sure the little one will follow. I'm not saying that i'm perfect in this and practising it all the time but all i want to specify is just showing a little respect and gratitude for those people who provide services to people. Of course courtesy and decorum is important in a business that is why we practise this all the time at work and it's one way of gaining more costumers cause we are offering great service all the time. But there are really people who are really rude, arrogant, disrespectful, and high pride and they think that we owe them in tons and they want to be treated as somebody superior. For me it's just a vise verse situation cause if retail business needs costumers, costumers are consumers and needs things all the time. Courtesy and decorum is just a simple traits that polish reaches across class and wealth. It's the refinement of civility is accessible to anyone regardless of rank or education. Even animals and plants needs respect how much more us humans, just show a little gratitude and respect for those people who provide services for you even though you are paying for it.

How To Bring Your Credit Scores Back From The Dead

Need to improve your credit scores or build new credit? Want to get a
credit card but have poor or no credit history? How about if you have a
good credit and want to boost it up to excellent? I recently came across
a website that helps you do all that.
Super Easy Credit
This site is very well laid out and you can easily search the categories
for the card that fits your current situation. Find a card if you are
recently bankrupt, or if you have a new business, there are prepaid
cards for yourself or prepaid cards for your teens aged 13 – 17, secured
and unsecured cards. You can search by card type, your credit quality,
the cards features, the bank or issuer and search by country.
What I like that all the information about each card is clearly defined.
It shows you the Introductory APR, the Intro period, the regular APR,
the Balance Transfer Rates, lets you know if the card has any annual
fee, and what kind of credit is needed to apply for each card. It tells
you which cards give cash back on your purchases and other features the
different cards offer. Know what you are getting into before you apply!
Learn how to repair or improve your credit by requesting these two free
reports, “How To Bring Your Credit Back From The Dead” and “10 Credit
Secrets Banks Don’t Want You To Know”.
When you get a chance check this site out … I’m sure you will add it to
your favorites like I did. :-)

Movie Reviews

When i got home from work all i want is to relaxed, watched a movie or TV. I loved reality shows and sometimes my husband recorded it for me those my favorite reality shows so that i won't missed watching it, but when nothing came out on TV we rent a DVD. It's frustrating sometimes cause you think you got a good movie, they brag about it on movie reviews and you are so excited to watched it when they come out and all you found out is crappy. I hate watching a movie where all you heard every minute every seconds is cursing, even those award winning known actors and used to be your favorites. So disappointing... Better get some wholesome kids movie nextime cause still fun and exciting and you'll enjoy it. We just started watching the Water Horse movie and i like it and we're going to finish it tomorrow. It's a nice movie, it's about the tale story of the monster of the Loch Ness. If you never seen it yet, check it out.

Rice Crisis

Have you heard or read the news? So devastating especially in Asia...Asian country stop exporting their rice, afraid about the rice shortage might happen. You know how important rice in every meal, in Philippines there should be rice in every meal from breakfast, lunch to dinner. They said that prices are getting high also, i have my families, my relatives and friends in the Philippines and i'm worried about this cause they were more affected by the crisis. Especially now it's summer in there and my mother said that the weather is so hot, just hope and pray that there is no drought happened cause there are still alot of people have rice field in there and fields needs water.
I just remember my grandfather he used to have a rice field before but that was long time ago. He is a very hard working farmer, he owns a wide acres of land. He planted vegetables and fruits, coconuts, bananas, corn and rice. But unfortunately he lost his sight and only couple of his kids continue doing on his farm cause most of them had their own job. That was so long time ago and my father said that they barely buy foods and they raised animals at that time too. Now, not much left... Both of my grandparents are gone and most of their kids are gone. It's a simple life not so complicated and alot different of what is it now.

What goes around comes around

FORWARDED VIA MAIL

His name was Fleming, and he was a poor Scottish farmer. One day, while trying to make a living for his family, he heard a cry for help coming from a nearby bog. He dropped his tools and ran to the bog.

There, mired to his waist in black muck, was a terrified boy, screaming and struggling to free himself. Farmer Fleming saved the lad from what could have been a slow and terrifying death.

The next day, a fancy carriage pulled up to the Scotsman's sparse surroundings An elegantly dressed nobleman stepped out and introduced himself as the father of the boy Farmer Fleming had saved.

'I want to repay you,' said the nobleman. 'You saved my son's life.'

'No, I can't accept payment for what I did,' the Scottish farmer replied waving off the offer. At that moment, the farmer's own son came to the door of the family hovel.

'Is that your son?' the nobleman asked.

'Yes,' the farmer replied proudly.

'I'll make you a deal. Let me provide him with the level of education my own son will enjoy. If the lad is anything like his father, he'll no doubt grow to be a man we both will be proud of.' And that he did.

Farmer Fleming's son attended the very best schools and in time, graduated from St. Mary's Hospital Medical School in London, and went on to become known throughout the world as the noted Sir Alexander Fleming, the discoverer of Penicillin.

Years afterward, the same nobleman's son who was saved from the bog was stricken with pneumonia.

What saved his life this time? Penicillin?

The name of the nobleman? Lord Randolph Churchill. His son's name?

Sir Winston Churchill.

Someone once said: What goes around comes around.

Work like you don't need the money.
Love like you've never been hurt.
Dance like nobody's watching...
Sing like nobody's listening...
Live like it's Heaven on Earth.

Building Up Your Credit

This does not mean that you have to bury yourself to debt, but building your credit score can help you in a better life later. When i got here in the US of course i don't have any credit cards and i don't wanna have one through my husband by joining on his credit card. I'm very much disagree in having one cause for me i don't really need it i just wanna spend my money if i wanna buy something than to have a credit. Later on, on my few years in here and working i learned that it has big advantage if you build up your credit score. So i started to have my own at least one credit card and start buying something through my credit card and paying it little by little. But more than the minimum though cause it will take you forever to pay it off and i'm using it as a back-up and have something in case of emergency. By using my credit card and paying on the right time help me establish my credit score and a high credit scores has big opportunity to get a loan, mortgage, financing, buying a car and buying a house. Companies and Agencies has more trust on you to loan some money if you have a high credit score.
It's a hard to get one it took me awhile to have one on my own. There are few offers few months when i got a job but with a high interest one and one way to have more offers is signing credit accounts on stores. Still i'm just being patient till Capital One offer me for not too high interest but i start on a low credit limit. I start building my credit by using it and paying on time and now they increase my credit limit.

I love my own my native land

I love my own my native land Philippines my Philippines! I'm a pure Pilipina, born and raised in Philippines. I miss my country my family, relatives and most of my friends are in there and most of all i miss Philippine foods and i'm craving for it all the time.
Here's a little description of my native land:
Philippines is consist of 7,107 island in the Southeast Asia with approximately total land area of 300,00 square kilometers. I've read that Philippines is the same size as the state of Arizona, well as we know Philippines is an scattered island but if it's a solid land it's same size as Arizona. Here's an interesting article that i found: Arizona- Reaching The Filipino Family's American Dream ( True story) No wonder i feel at home in here. But no oceans and beaches in here though and Philippines is a scattered islands surrounded by water. Alot of natural attractions, jeepneys and buses that will take you wherever you want and boats and big ships if you want an island hopping. There are still taxis and airplanes but i like the common and simple ways to enjoy the trip and do some sightseeing. We are planning to have a long vacation in the Philippines and i am so excited about it and hope and pray it's gonna be this year.

Salute to the Heroes

I salute to all the men and women in uniform, they're portraying the biggest part in our country. I have a biggest admiration to them, they provide safety and security for the people and country.

When i was a child i want to be a police woman, when i turned high school i want to be a soldier but when i grew up everything's change. Yesterday i had a customer on me in the register and she's an Air force, tiny woman and she's having maternity leave from her work. All i have is admiration to them, i don't think i have a guts to work at battle and leave my family. I'm proud and respect them like Police, Navy's, Air force and Marines.

April Fools

Haven't we just celebrate Christmas? Haven't we just celebrate New Year? or Valentine's Day? How about St. Patricks and Easter? Well, i'm just recapturing the past and hoping i didn't miss anything...
