Melamine

This is forwarded by my cousin.

1.What really is poisoned milk?
It is the milk powder mixed with "MELAMINE"
What is Melamine use for?
*It is an industrial chemical use in the production of melawares.
*It is also used in home decoration." US resistant board"
Do you understand Melamine is use in industrial production,it cannot be eaten!

2.Why is Melamine added in milk powder?
The most important nutrient in milk is protein. And Melamine has the same protein that contains "NITROGEN"Adding Melamine in milk reduces milk content and it is cheaper then milk so it lowers capitalization. It can give the business man more profit!

3.When was it discovered?
Year 2007 US cats and dogs died suddenly, they found that pet food from China contains Melamine.
Starting 2008, In China , an abnormal increase in infant cases of kidney stones.August 2008 China Sanlu Milk Powder tested with Melamine.
Sept. 2008 New Zealand gov't ask China to check this problem.
Sept. 21, 2008 Lots of food products in Taiwan tested with Melamine

4.What happens when Melamine is digested?
Melamine remains inside the kidney. It forms into stonesblocking the tubes. Pain will be eminent and person cannot urinate. Kidney will then swell.Although surgery can remove the stones, but it will cause irreversible kidney damage. It can lead to loss of kidney function and will requirekidney dialysis or lead to death because of uremia.
*What is dialysis?
In fact, it should be called "blood washing"it is filtering all of the body's blood into the machine and then go back to the body. The whole process takes 4 hours and it is necessary to dialysis once for every 3 days for the rest of your life.
A small hole is required in the arm to insert thesub-dialysis catheter.
*Why is it more serious in babies?
Because the kidney is very small and they drink a lot of milk powder. China currenty has 13,000 infants hospitalized. It does not matter how much a human being took Melamine. The important point is "It cannot be EATEN!"

5.What are the foods to be avoided?
Foods, dairy products and milk that contains MELAMINE.

Remember: Foods with creamer or milk that contains "MELAMINE" should be avoided. Be sure to always check the label before buying.

To Carved A Pumpkin

I was thinking about bringing my daughter to a pumpkin patch to pick our own pumpkin for the Halloween and carve it cause this is what the so called tradition here in America every Halloween. Of course before proceeding on our plan 1st i wanna know what the pumpkin head all about? what's the beginning on this so called tradition? People correct me if i'm wrong cause i'm not from here and nextime i'm going to share our way in the Philippines. My workmate started this by telling me a story about Jack O'Lantern. Same story i found in the Internet:

History of the Jack O'Lantern
The Irish brought the tradition of the Jack O'Lantern to America. But, the original Jack O'Lantern was not a pumpkin. The Jack O'Lantern legend goes back hundreds of years in Irish History. As the story goes, Stingy Jack was a miserable, old drunk who liked to play tricks on everyone: family, friends, his mother and even the Devil himself. One day, he tricked the Devil into climbing up an apple tree. Once the Devil climbed up the apple tree, Stingy Jack hurriedly placed crosses around the trunk of the tree. The Devil was then unable to get down the tree. Stingy Jack made the Devil promise him not to take his soul when he died. Once the devil promised not to take his soul, Stingy Jack removed the crosses and let the Devil down.
Many years later, when Jack finally died, he went to the pearly gates of Heaven and was told by Saint Peter that he was too mean and too cruel and had led a miserable and worthless life on earth. He was not allowed to enter heaven. He then went down to Hell and the Devil. The Devil kept his promise and would not allow him to enter Hell. Now Jack was scared and had nowhere to go but to wander about forever in the darkness between heaven and hell. He asked the Devil how he could leave as there was no light. The Devil tossed him an ember from the flames of Hell to help him light his way. Jack placed the ember in a hollowed out Turnip, one of his favorite foods which he always carried around with him whenever he could steal one. For that day onward, Stingy Jack roamed the earth without a resting place, lighting his way as he went with his "Jack O'Lantern".
On all Hallow's eve, the Irish hollowed out Turnips, rutabagas, gourds, potatoes and beets. They placed a light in them to ward off evil spirits and keep Stingy Jack away. These were the original Jack O'Lanterns. In the 1800's a couple of waves of Irish immigrants came to America. The Irish immigrants quickly discovered that Pumpkins were bigger and easier to carve out. So they used pumpkins for Jack O'Lanterns.

I asked my husband about this but he doesn't know.(Their ancestors are not Irish. Their Danish and German) They probably didn't practise this so called tradition cause i asked him one time if it's ok if i put some decorations outside for the Halloween like a pumpkin head but he refuse cause it's an evil way. Now i know what he's talking about. He didn't even tried trick or treating when he was a kid. Well we didn't really tried trick or treating too with my daughter we just dress her some costumes and she wears is whole day wherever we go and it's fun and cute for the kids and just this time one day every year to wear fun costumes. I asked him about to pick a pumpkin and he is ok just to experience the tradition and having a family outing at the pumpkin patch and our daughter might like it. Anyway i loved pumpkin pie and it's my favorite ever since i got to taste of it. One thing is the story is just a myth so might as well enjoy the Halloween.

Bridge for Animals

This is an email from my husband's cousin. He's goin back and fourth from Alaska to Montana and passed this bridge everytime. Very nice picture and he said before this brigde was built he had to wait for hours to crossed the herd of animals and sometimes they bed down in the middle of the highway and a lot of animals at that time were killed.

This is the turn-off at Banff, Alberta , Canada to the #1 highway to Calgary.Great picture isn't it?They had to build the animals (especially the elk) their own bridge because that was where their natural crossing was. After the highway was built there were far too many animals killed. It didn't take the animals long to learn that this was their very own bridge!

Fall Cleaning

First i want everybody to know that i'm loving the weather. We can do fun stuff outside and my daughter is loving it as well. Today is my day-off and this is my only day-off for this week, i'm hoping they'll give me at least 2 days off next week. I been doing some general cleaning around the house today. Cleaning our closet and my daughter's closet for the coming cold season and storing some summer clothes away. Aside from that is disinfecting the shower, tub, toilets, bathrooms counter and kitchen counter. As well as steam cleaning the carpets. Very tiring day but at least i accomplished something especially cleaning our carpets. Gosh! you know how it is when you have kid around, i just covered the spots with the rugs cause i didn't get a chance to steam clean it but seems spots are all over now and i can't handle looking on it anymore. Well she's just a kid and i don't mind it and i don't mind cleaning her mess as well. Yeah, before and after work i 'm cleaning my daughter's mess, she'll helped me though like putting her toys in the toy box. At the end of the day i felt like i did something productive today and maybe next day-off i'm gonna start planting some flowers in my flower pots outside again cause they all died last summer. Which i'm doing it all the time whenever it starts to cool down. I'm just loving the weather and it's giving me a nice mood.

Revisiting Jerome AZ

Off to Jerome! Yesterday was my day-off and it's a beautiful day so we are taking a drive to Jerome. It was my second visit and the 1st was 2 years ago on my 29Th birthday. Just a family outing and we thought it might not so busy up there. We are thinking about riding a buggy too cause the last time we didn't tried. Well, parking space are packed as usual and people are touring around, visiting building after building and taking some pictures and reading some historical signs. The good thing is there is not much motorcycle people around cause there are plenty of them the last time. It's a nice exercise too walking around town, taking some pictures and our daughter likes to climb on the stairs cause Jerome is like a town in the hill. We walked around and visited the church an unfortunately there is no buggy. What i mean buggy is a carriage pulled by horses. There is nothing around that day, not sure if they stop it or just on the weekends. We ate on our favorite fudge place with some ice cream. We didn't ate launch on the haunted burger place though cause we got there past launch already and we had our launch at one of Cottonwood Mexican restaurant which is very good. We visited the Gold King Mine and the Ghost Town about 2 to 3 miles further. We never tried it too the last time and it's an interesting old place with some old preserved buildings like a dentist place, an old school, a shoe maker's place and few old houses and they said it's haunted. There are a lot of old stuffs and collections of cars and an old mining hole. That's interest me most cause you can find old old stuff in there from the 18s. There is an entrance and it cost us 3 for only 10.50. It's worth looking around and keeping memories on our visit. That was a nice trip and i'm still going back in there but i guess not for awhile and nextime i'm gonna visit that Ghost Town again. If you want to know Jerome AZ. 2 1/2 Years in Progress

I've been longing to write this for a long time i just didn't get a chance. Actually it's 2 years and 7 months in progress for my daughter. She is my sweety pie and such a delight to us. She cracked me most of the time with her surprising new development every now and then. She knows all the letters in the alphabet now (the big letters and she is working on the small letters now) and numbers 1 to 10, she starts learning probably when she turn 2 but before that she already have some few as she is watching PBS kids channel all the time. She's always paying attention especially about letters and numbers. Her favorites are word world, super why and word girl, her eyes always on this 3 she does watch and remembers and knows almost all of the characters of some of the shows too. As all kids are she is so curious and every now and then well ask a question. Everytime we go out a lot of questions and when she's done she get entertained by all the billboards and advertisements on the street and read it by letters. She sometimes sing along with our music in the car, she is such an entertainer. We call her honey, sweety, dear, love and sweety pie and she calls us on those names too. She is such a sweety!!! Her Favorite is "yes dear". She loved Lego's. Her aunt bought one when she is 18 months and she loved playing and building towers on it even until now. She loved puzzles too and still her favorite. She loved to play on the park but unfortunately summer is sooo hot so we skip it every summer and even on the porch where some of her toys are is still hot. Her favorite kids movie is vegetales and she got her own everytime we rent a movie and oh boy she'll watch it over and over. She is choosing her own clothes to wear now most of the time especially when we are going out and got her purse too. That's our daughter so sweet yet can be a rascal sometimes. She got a tantrum too and thank goodness that she has a father who will calm her down and patiently entertaining her and they got their tickle time too. She likes it and ask her father to tickle her. She is my sweety pie and i thank God for blessing me of such a wonderful daughter, such a treasure to us.
